Linda J Kidd - Council Member

Council Member serve a four-year term of office.

Term Expires: November 2014

I was born and raised in North Dakota. I am from a family of nine children. My faimily are ranchers/famers and small business owners. I attended North Dakota State School of Science. I owned and operated two Hardware Hand and furniture stores for 20+ years along with an ambulance service for 15 years. I also worked as the Business Manager for my husband's three clinics in the surrounding communities.

As the children left home my husband and I looked to simplify our lives by cutting back and having more free time. As the businesses sold, Matthew started working for an emergency room group to have regular hours and no call. Much of that work was in Needles, Blythe, and Parker. I traveled regularly to Needles for about two years until we moved here permanently in 1998.

I have lived in Needles for 14+ years and have enjoyed the community and people along with the very warm weather. We looked at the surrounding areas to live and chose Needles because it was a small community right on the Colorado River and it was close to work.

I decided to run for City Council because I felt I could offer a common-sense approach to enchancing Needles and I could offer my life experiences along with a strong worl ethic, community service, and commitment to Needles. I was on the Hospital Board of Trustees in Needles before running for City Council. I belong to and support the NEDC, NDBA, Needles Chamber of Commerce, and I am a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

I am Married to Matthew C. Kidd, M.D., M.P.H and we have been together for 26 years. We have Four Children and Six Grand-Children.
